Roger Bullington, P.E.
President and General Manager of Chief Construction & Development.
Roger received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1983 and worked for Varco-Pruden Buildings in St. Joseph, Missouri before joining Chief Industries, Inc. In 1986 Roger joined Chief Buildings and then went on to become Vice President of Technical Services for this Chief Industries division in 2006. Roger received his Master in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska Lincoln in 1995 and is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Nebraska. In 2011, Roger was instrumental in starting up the Development arm of Chief. The daily operations and management of Chief Construction was added to Roger’s list of responsibilities in 2012. His current title is President and General Manager of Chief Construction & Development.
He is an active volunteer in the Grand Island community, having served on the board of directors for many not-for-profit agencies. Roger’s experience in civil engineering, structural engineering, real estate development and construction management allow him to be a vital asset to our growth and expansion.
Mark Moravec
Business Development Manager
Born and raised in David City, NE, Mark attended the University of Nebraska and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Ag Economics. He was a 3-year letterman on the Husker Football Team playing fullback for Coach Tom Osborne. He began his career in Sales & Marketing with Cargill Inc. and spent 16 years in various sales & management positions in 4 locations. He then became V.P. of Marketing with Associated Staffing in Grand Island, a position he held for 6 years. He then joined Chief Industries as Director of HR for 8 years until he transitioned into his current position as Business Development Manager for Chief Construction.
Mark is an active member of the community and has served on a number of boards. Currently, he is the Chairman for the Nebraska Workforce Investment Board of Directors as well as the College Park Board of Directors. He also sits on the United Way Board of Directors as well as other charitable organizations.
Russ Canfield
Manager of Field Operations
As the Manager of our Field Operations, Russ Canfield leverages a wealth of knowledge that he has accumulated through his previous experience and education. Russ is a native to Grand Island, graduating from Northwest High School in 1988. He started his career in construction in 1987 as a laborer for Tri Valley Builders Inc. and worked his way into carpenter apprentice, carpenter and lead carpenter by 1992. During this time, Russ attended Central Community College as part of their drafting program as well as the Project Supervisor class. To further his education, he has attended two, 10 hour and one, 30-hour OSHA courses through AGC. In his 35 years in the construction industry, Russ has successfully completed builds that include educational, financial, retail, multifamily, industrial and health care facilities.
Jaye Monter
Controller
With over 25 years of experience in accounting and finance, Jaye Monter received a Bachelor of Science Comprehensive Business Administration degree with an emphasis in Accounting and Finance from Kearney State College in Kearney, Nebraska. Jaye started her career in public accounting with a small firm in Colorado. There she obtained her Certified Public Accountant’s License. After public accounting, her career moved to various private industries where she worked as a Controller. Before joining Chief Construction, she held the position of City Treasurer/Finance Director for the city of Grand Island, NE. Jaye is an active member of the community and volunteer leader at the Grand Island YMCA. She also serves on the Regional Planning Commission and on the Board of Directors of the Crisis Center.
Jaye joined Chief Construction in 2015 as the Controller and is responsible for managing the company’s financial planning and budget management functions while providing leadership internally. As a certified public accountant, she provides oversight and planning for our financial success.
Brad Brandenburg
Drafting/Design Manager
Brad Brandenberg joined Chief Construction as Architect and Drafting/Design Manager in 2005. Brad is a Registered Professional Architect by the state of Nebraska and is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. He received his Bachelor’s of Architecture from the University of Idaho prior to working as a project architect and architect for various organizations.
Today, with over 25 years of professional experience, Brad oversees the drafting/design team, providing guidance and insight into our drawings and plans. His experience has allowed him to work on a number of projects in a variety of industries. He is also a very active member in the community, having served as a board member for the First United Methodist Church and the Heartland Amateur Radio Association.
Safety
A job well done can be defined as one where everyone on the team makes it home safe and sound at the end of each day.
Chief Construction is dedicated to providing the highest quality of construction for all of our clients with an emphasis on maintaining the safety of all parties on-site. Our safety program is administered by Great Plains Safety and Health Organizations located in Kearney, NE. Through our program, we ensure that our team and all of the contracted employees are following a rigorous and strict safety policy to uphold all standards while on the job site.
Under the direction of Great Plains Safety and Health Organization programs are developed and implemented to create effective
injury prevention safety that reduce or eliminate OSHA fines, medical and legal fees, and worker’s compensation costs. Our safety program and partnership requires all of our subcontractors to attend safety training on an ongoing basis. Our standards also require that our subcontractors are up-to-date with their safety requirements before payment is issued. The safety program promises to reduce risk on the job site and liability for the owners.
