Project Overview
The 32,000 square foot testing laboratory in Kearney, NE is dedicated to serving farmers and ranchers with their soil, feed, water, plant, and manure analysis. Our team worked with them to do a complete 5,000 sq ft remodel of the offices inside of their facility. This remodel was a two-phase project, allowing the Ward team to occupy half the space and continue their operations while the Chief team worked in the remaining half.
The main structures are pre-engineered steel buildings. The remodel required the interior of the space to be taken down to the steel girts and metal studs. Years of patchwork electrical wiring, ducts, and communication wiring were removed and replaced. The work scope included new framing, thermal insulation, sound-deadening insulation, acoustical tile ceilings, drywall, painting, as well as electrical system, heating & air system, and communications.
In the end, a spacious open office area was achieved along with a glass wall conference room, a kitchenette, two large restrooms, and a proficient receiving/packaging area. Six new offices were constructed and a new larger soil health lab was created. All this was accomplished without Ward Labs having to experience any lengthy downtime as the remodel occurred.
“Chief Construction was willing to go the extra mile to provide quality service in a timely manner. We are extremely pleased with the end product and would recommend Chief Construction to others who are interested in obtaining superior design-build services.”
